Management Accountant

Management Accountant (6 Month FTC) - Manchester - Hybrid working - Tech Company

We are seeking a qualified Management Accountant for an initial 6 month contract, with strong potential for extension or a permanent position. The ideal candidate will have SME finance experience, ideally within the software or mobile telecoms sector, and demonstrate expertise in Xero and advanced Excel. This role is critical in driving financial operations and supporting strategic decision making.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage the full accounting process (AP/AR/general ledger)
• Ensure accurate financial reporting using Xero
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for AIM listed standards
• Review monthly board packs and liaise with external parties
• Analyse financial data to spot trends and growth opportunities
• Assist with budgeting, reforecasting, and support the CFO on strategic projects
• Drive financial improvements across cross-functional teams and maintain compliance

Who You Are:

• ACCA/CIMA Qualified, Part Qualified, or QBE
• Demonstrated expertise as a Management Accountant
• Proficient in Xero accounting software
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with proficiency in Word and PowerPoint; SAP experience is a plus
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and financial regulations
• Prior experience in a subscription-based business model is highly desirable
• Analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
