What you'll do:
As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in shaping the financial future of our client's organisation. Your primary responsibilities will include preparing monthly management accounts for multiple entities, assisting in budgeting & forecasting activities, leading the month-end close process, producing detailed financial reports for senior management decision-making, managing intercompany transactions across global entities, tracking key financial metrics for performance improvement, assisting with year-end audit preparations, identifying opportunities for process improvements within the Finance team, and supporting various finance projects.
- Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statements for multiple entities.
- Assist in developing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, providing insights on variances and financial trends.
- Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring all accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations are accurately completed on time.
- Generate detailed financial reports and analysis to support senior leadership in strategic decision-making.
- Handle intercompany reconciliations and recharges, ensuring alignment with group policies and procedures.
- Monitor key financial performance indicators, analyse discrepancies, and provide actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Support year-end audit preparations, working closely with external auditors to provide necessary documentation.
- Identify opportunities to refine financial processes, driving efficiencies and enhancing reporting accuracy.
- Take part in finance initiatives such as system enhancements, automation projects, and financial modelling to support business growth.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Management Accountant position will bring a wealth of experience from previous roles. You should have at least 2 years of experience in a similar role and be part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA). Your strong understanding of accounting principles will be essential for success in this role. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software are also required. Your strong analytical skills will enable you to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Excellent communication and presentation skills are a must, as you will be working with stakeholders at all levels. Attention to detail is crucial in this role, as is the ability to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment. A proactive approach to problem-solving will also be highly valued.
- 2+ years of experience in a Management Accountant or similar role
- Part-qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with a strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) and experience with accounting software
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
