Job Overview:

A leading manufacturing company based in Manchester City Centre are looking for a Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and commercially minded finance professional to play a key role in driving financial performance and providing strategic insights.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing management accounts, assisting with the budgeting process, and offering financial analysis to support key decision-makers across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management Accounts: Prepare monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Month-End Procedures: Manage month-end close processes, ensuring timely journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with operational teams to ensure realistic and achievable financial plans.
  • Financial Reporting: Provide detailed financial analysis and commentary on variances, highlighting risks and opportunities to senior management.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate with department heads to provide financial insights and assist with decision-making to drive business performance.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve financial systems, processes, and reporting mechanisms to support the needs of a dynamic and growing business.
  • Stock & Inventory Management: Support inventory control through detailed financial reporting and analysis of stock movements, ensuring accurate stock valuations.
  • Audit & Compliance: Assist with both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Strong experience in management accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to present complex financial data in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems (experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar is advantageous).
  • Competent Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to handle large data sets.
