Role Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Finance Officer for a temporary position within an educational setting in North Manchester. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust financial management and compliance with the educational setting Financial Regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cashflow Forecasting: Develop and maintain accurate cashflow forecasts to ensure the College’s financial stability.
- Treasury Management: Oversee treasury functions, including effective cashflow management and maximizing investment opportunities.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Fixed Asset Register Maintenance: Maintain the College’s fixed asset register, providing guidance on safeguarding assets.
- VAT Returns: Lead on VAT returns, ensuring compliance and maximizing VAT recovery.
- Project Financial Management: Manage financial aspects of all projects, both revenue and capital, ensuring grant conditions are met and claims are submitted timely.
Qualifications and Experience:
- AAT qualified.
- Relevant experience gained in the UK, ideally in an education or public sector setting.
- Proven experience in a similar finance role.
- Strong knowledge of treasury management and cashflow forecasting.
- Experience with VAT returns and fixed asset management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full right to work in the UK.
