Senior Management Accountant (6 Month Fixed Term Contract – Potential to be extended for a further 6 months) Manchester City Centre – 1 day a week in the office £50,000 - £60,000Axon Moore have an urgent requirement for an experienced and ideally immediately available Senior Management Accountant to work for a fantastic technology business based in Manchester City Centre. My client is seeking a dynamic Senior Management Accountant with specialised experience in an SME, previous technology business experience would be advantageous but isn’t essential. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and previous experience of managing a team and be a mastery of Excel. This position is integral to the financial planning and decision-making processes, ensuring efficient and accurate financial operations.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage the entire accounting process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions and reports are processed accurately and maintained using Xero accounting software. Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations for AIM-listed companies.
  • Oversee and review monthly board packs and reports sent to external parties.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for financial improvement.
  • Support the finance team monthly budgeting and reforecasting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive financial efficiencies and improvements in the business.
  • Provide insights into financial risks and opportunities by leveraging data analytics.
  • Assist in financial audit preparations and liaise with external auditors as necessary.
  • Assist the CFO with ad hoc project work in line with business strategy.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and safeguarding of assets.
