Role Overview:

As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting our clients with bookkeeping, payroll, and management accounts. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with practice experience who enjoys working with a variety of businesses and thrives in a remote setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process bookkeeping tasks using software such as Xero, QuickBooks, FreeAgent, and other cloud based software.

• Prepare and submit VAT returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy.

• Manage payroll processing for a portfolio of clients, including pension submissions.

• Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.

• Reconcile bank transactions and maintain accurate financial records.

• Liaise with clients to provide financial insights and support.

• Ensure all work meets compliance and regulatory requirements.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience working in an accountancy practice is desirable.

• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, VAT, and payroll.

• Experience using cloud-based accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and FreeAgent.

• Excellent organisational and time management skills.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently while maintaining excellent communication with the team.
