Accounts Assistant

Location: Trafford - with hybrid working

Salary: circa £25,000- £28,000

We are currently seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a well-established SME based in Trafford Park, on a permanent basis. The role encompasses all aspects of the accounting function with responsibility for Sales and Purchase Ledger transactions and Credit Control. The role would suit an experienced accounts assistant who is looking to join a friendly & supportive team, in a stable and varied role.

Reporting to the Finance Manager key responsibilities will include:

  • Sales invoice processing and customer receipts
  • Entering stock receipts
  • Issuing customer invoices
  • Assisting with Credit control with a view to taking ownership
  • Purchase invoice processing and supplier payments
  • Assisting in the month end process
  • Liasing with and developing knowledge of Boardman's China office
  • Learning how to use Online banking
  • Ad hoc tasks as required including cover for completing Daily Cash Management and Banking spreadsheets

Key Skills

  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Organised and reliable
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
  • Self-motivated. Comfortable both working alone and within a small team
  • Intermediate MS Office skills (including Excel)
  • Experience of Microsoft Dynamics NAV would be an advantage but not essential
