Management Information Officer

Join our dedicated Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding (DoLS) Team within Adult Social Care at Trafford Council. This role is crucial in ensuring that the legal rights of residents and patients are protected, and the council meets its statutory responsibilities. As a Management Information Officer, you will contribute significantly to the operational delivery of the supervisory/responsible body’s functions of DoLS.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Oversee data collation, input, and recording related to Trafford Council’s DoLS statutory functions and service provisions.
  • Input documents into the Adult Social Care system and record information using relevant systems/spreadsheets.
  • Attend time-specific meetings and liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor relevant mailboxes, handle queries, and take appropriate actions in conjunction with the Senior Practitioner.
  • Produce clear and understandable written and statistical reports.
  • Provide business support in other aspects of the DoLS Service function, including note-taking.
  • Be involved in all aspects of the DoLS statutory functions; including inputting DoLS referrals, commissioning DoLS assessments, data management and monitoring, invoicing, and relevant system inputting.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Demonstrable experience working in a similar environment, preferably within adult social care.
  • Proficient in administrative tasks, procedures, and processes.
  • Strong understanding of, and adherence to, the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR).
  • Experienced in inputting and maintaining computer systems and databases.
  • Skilled in using software packages including Excel, Word, and Publisher.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to present information clearly to a diverse audience.
  • Developed organisational skills, capable of managing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision.
