Automotive QHSE Manager needed

Our client, an industry renowned bodybuilding (coachbuilders) company, is seeking for an Automotive QHSE Manager to join their team.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced QHSE & Technical Compliance Manager whose role ensures the company's operations meet the highest standards of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental (QHSE), and Technical Compliance, supporting both regulatory requirements and best practices in vehicle bodybuilding and conversions.

Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday ; 40 hours a week
Location: Manchester
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee QHSE policies, procedures, and compliance across all operations.
- Conduct RCA’s and be a leader for positive change.
- Ensure vehicle bodybuilding and modifications meet Type Approval (IVA, VCA, DVSA) and industry regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, audits, and inspections to maintain workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Develop and implement quality management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001) to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead investigations into non-conformance, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are taken.
- Maintain our Body Builder programmes within various dealerships.
- Maintain and have control of the QMS.
- Monitor and own COSHH, PUWER and LOLER requirements and adherence.
- Monitor NCR’s and customer feedback.
- Ensure build documentation is adequate and technical specifications are available.
- Provide technical guidance on vehicle construction standards, materials, and regulatory compliance.
- Deliver QHSE training programmes to staff, ensuring a strong safety culture.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, clients, and suppliers to maintain compliance and certifications.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in a QHSE and compliance role within vehicle bodybuilding, automotive, or engineering industries.
- Robust understanding of Type Approval, IVA, VCA, and industry standards.
- NEBOSH, IOSH, or similar Health & Safety certification.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 is highly desirable.
- Understanding of fabrication, welding, and vehicle construction processes.
- Ability to lead a safety-first culture and implement compliance improvements, inspiring those around you.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to risk management.
- Utilising great communication skills to confidently liaise with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and internal teams.
