My client is looking to recruit a Senior QA technologist to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to grow and develop and be part of a business that is going in the right direction.

The position will report into the Import and Quality Merchandising Manager / Commercial Director for Quality & Compliance issues.

Job Summary

The Senior product technologist is responsible for overseeing quality assurance processes within the product lines of toys, stationery, and art & craft supplies.

This role ensures that all products meet safety, quality, and compliance standards, staying aligned with industry regulations and internal standards.

Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including product development, merchandising, to deliver safe and high-quality products to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure all products meet quality, safety, and compliance requirements, and other global toy, stationery, and art & craft standards.
  • Ensure where required refinement of the process is put forward to Import and Quality Merchandising Manager and Commercial director to ensure consistent drive for the best standards
  • Lead internal product testing plan approvals for all UK Team and ensure collaboration with Ningbo office on testing plans/cost savings.
  • Maintain records of QA activities for your orders, including sealing comments & testing results.
  • Support the QA UK team with the roll out of the style file and new improved ways of working.

Product Development and Testing

  • Work closely with product development teams to integrate quality standards at the design stage for toy product categories.
  • Review and approve product specifications, providing expert advice on quality control measures and test plans on your category area.
  • Conduct risk assessments on new and existing products, analysing potential safety or quality issues on your category areas.

Vendor and Supplier Management

  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality-related issues, maintaining strong relationships and open lines of communication with your orders/categories.
  • Ensure any vendor issues/quality issues are flagged to QA Manager in Ningbo & also the Commercial Director for exploration and CAP

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for quality improvements throughout the product lifecycle and communicate effectively those ideas with Commercial director and Import/QA Manager
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes, and best practices within the QA and ensure this is communicated to other team members internally and Ningbo office.
  • Ensure you provide support to other QA team members, product development and other internal stakeholders
  • Support commercial director with organisation of required training needed to support the teams knowledge on PD / QA.
  • Continue to feed the team with product recall info which is relevant to our categories
