As a Senior HR Advisor, you will play a critical role in delivering a high-quality HR service to support the needs of the Trust. Working closely with the Head of HR, you will provide professional, timely HR advice and support, ensuring compliance with employment law, Trust policies, and best practices. This is a strategic and operational role with a focus on employee relations, recruitment, payroll, and HR project work.

Description



Employee Relations & HR Advisory:

  • Provide expert HR advice to senior leadership and line managers on employee relations (ER) issues, including absence management, disciplinary matters, and grievances.
  • Advise and support managers in managing sickness cases, including liaising with Occupational Health.
  • Conduct site visits to academies, offering advice on both informal and formal HR meetings.
  • Assist with TUPE processes and redundancy initiatives, including the movement of outsourced staff.
  • Support line managers in managing staff performance, engagement, and well-being.


Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Lead recruitment efforts from sourcing through to onboarding, ensuring compliance with the Trust's Safer Recruitment policy.
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including drafting job adverts, shortlisting, and facilitating interviews.
  • Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new hires, including drafting contracts and offer letter


HR Projects & Strategy:

  • Work with the Head of HR on strategic HR projects, including policy development, pay harmonisation, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Play an active role in streamlining HR processes and ensuring that systems are optimised.
  • Monitor and report key HR data such as staff turnover, absence, gender pay gap, and equality data.

Profile

The successful applicant will ideally have;

  • Experience in HR advisory roles, with strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Experience working in the education sector or multi-academy trust environment is advantageous
  • Demonstrable experience of supporting on restructures and TUPE processes
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise and influence at all levels.
  • Proficient in HR systems, with experience using Access or similar HR software.
  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) is desirable
