SRG is working with a well-established company who specialise in the development and manufacture of high performance, speciality fluids for a range of industrial applications. They are now looking for a R&D Chemist to join their technical team based in Greater Manchester. Focusing on developing and testing grease products to improve product portfolio, this role will suit candidates with recent and proven industrial experience of formulating/developing similar products such as greases, oils and/or lubricants. Other development of industrial chemicals such as coatings may be considered.

Benefits: Long established company with a good reputation in their market, offering a permanent position. 39 hours per work. Working hours are any 8-hour period between 6 am and 10 pm Monday to Saturday with a 60-minute unpaid break each day. You may be required to work additional hours when authorised and as necessitated by the needs of the business

Role / Description

  • Support in the development of new and existing grease products
  • Test new raw materials and additives to improve product performance
  • Support in the scale up of formulations from laboratory to full scale production
  • Support with the Quality Control (QC) of raw materials, intermediates and finished products as and when required
  • Support in the troubleshooting of QC issues alongside production and manufacturing
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and external customers

Requirements

  • Degree in Chemistry (or similar)
  • Recent, proven industrial experience of developing/formulating lubricants or similar products (oils/greases/coatings experience may be considered)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
