If you have experience in, fire safety, and fire risk assessments or have worked as a part of the fire and rescue service this role is for you. 

Undertaking responsibility for structural fire safety and the management of its maintenance as agreed with the Principal Fire Officer, providing the highest attainable standards of statutory compliance, whilst supporting and contributing towards both the Organisation's fire safety strategy and the department's aims as applicable to the role.

In particular, the role consists of:

  • Supporting colleagues from across the Organisation to achieve and discharge their delegated responsibilities for structural fire safety;
  • Guiding and advising Safety Services in discharging their responsibility for the “people” aspects of fire safety and statutory compliance (e.g. fire safety training, evacuation exercises, preparation of PEEPs etc.);
  • Undertaking responsibility for being the first point of contact for   key internal and external stakeholders (particularly the Fire and Rescue Services)
  • Supporting both the department and other colleagues through provision of information on technical aspects of fire safety in line with Organisation processes and protocols.
