Role: Business Development Manager (Inspection or Certification or Testing)
Location: National Coverage (HQ Manchester)
Salary: £45,000 + OTE + Car Allowance

With roots that go back as far as 1859, our client is a reputable and trusted supplier of Testing, Inspection Certification and Compliance services.
Due to continued growth, we are supporting our client in doubling the size of their Business Development Management team with roles several of their product offering teams. Depending on candidate preference and guidance from our client, you’ll either be successful in selling their Certification, Testing, or Inspection team.
As part of the Business Development Management team, you will be responsible for selling the above-mentioned services covering LOLER, PUWER and PSSR. You will work to develop a sales strategy for your industry sector, looking to grow long term and profitable business by monitoring and researching the sector to identify, approach and qualify new customers.
You will:
- Lead the winning of new customers; including making presentations, engaging in negotiations, ensuring follow-up and production of necessary documentation
- Prospecting new contacts within your specified division
- Become an active member of the Group, working within the team to develop new service and product sales opportunities
- Deliver sales of products and services throughout the group ensuring consistency with the strategic plan, embracing a solution sales approach
- Meet or exceed growth strategies and utilise technologies and sales programmes to quickly increase market share
- Understand customer business drivers and goals and keep up to date with customer’s businesses
- Develop relationships at decision maker levels within a customer’s organisation
- Be fluent in discussing scope of services, availability and throughput at all levels
- Develop high value solutions for the customer pains using the product portfolio
- Deliver monthly sales forecasting and an annual budget forecast
Required Experience:
- A background of working within or for the Facilities Management industry
- Knowledge of the regulations within the Engineering Inspection and compliance market
- Experienced in creating high value tender returns/proposal documents
- Highly effective sales, communication and presentation skills to deliver results
- Vast amount of prospecting experience
- Excel in relationship building, influencing and negotiating
- Excellent attention to detail, working with detailed proposals and CRM systems
- A track record of developing sales functions and exceeding revenue retention and growth expectations
