Location: Greater Manchester / Trafford Park

6-12-month contract / project

£40.00 - £45.00p/h DOE

Our client:

Our client is a leading UK Engineering, projects, and installations company, managing large EPC projects for major blue chip FMCG manufacturers UK wide. They are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager, for a 6-12-month contract, with the likelihood of extension. You will be expected to oversee a teams of installation engineers at a key customer site (North West based) within FMCG & food process manufacturing.

Due to a huge project win, they are looking for a Mechanical Project Manager to join their team on a contracts basis to assist on the key programmes.

For the position of Mechanical Project Manager, you will require to conduct the following daily duties:

  • Site experience – site surveys
  • Managing projects including steel platforms, pipework, layouts, conveyors – process food equipment etc
  • Quoting jobs after enquiry/site survey – ensuring commercials are met
  • Edit and modify drawings on CAD (Solidworks ideal) where needed
  • Ensure specifications and customer requirements are met
  • Organise suppliers & subcontractors (lifting equipment etc) – quotes etc
  • Liaise with workshop and re: labour/manpower
  • Ensure industry regulations and safety are adhered
  • Oversee site installs and ensure project runs smoothly
  • Handover successfully within timescales and budgets

The successful Mechanical Project Manager will need to have the following attributes:

  • Apprentice trained ideally to NVQ L3/HNC Mechanical Engineering
  • Solidworks & AutoCAD appreciation
  • Experienced in fabrications, plant lay-outs and capital equipment install
  • In depth Food Industry projects & site survey experience
    • A strong communicator, organised, flexible mindset, strive for excellence
    • Commutable to Greater Manchester / Salford area
