My client is currently seeking an experienced Freelance Senior/Principal Structural Engineer with a strong background in water treatment and sewage treatment works. If you have a proven track record in designing water-retaining structures and are proficient with StaadPro, Tekla TEDDS, and structural design for water infrastructure, they'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide structural design expertise for water and sewage treatment facilities, including designing water-retaining structures such as tanks, reservoirs, and pumping stations.
  • Undertake detailed structural analysis and design using StaadPro, Tekla TEDDS, and other relevant software, ensuring all designs are compliant with regulations and project specifications.
  • Produce and review technical reports, calculations, and drawings for water treatment and sewage treatment works projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers and project managers, to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
  • Offer advice and guidance to junior engineers, contractors, and clients as required.
Skills and Experience:
  • Essential:

    • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
    • Extensive freelance experience in structural design for water and sewage treatment works.
    • Proficiency in StaadPro and Tekla TEDDS for structural analysis and design.
    • Strong experience in designing water-retaining structures, including tanks and reservoirs, and assessing their performance.
    • Deep knowledge of UK building regulations and design codes relevant to water infrastructure projects.
    • Excellent communication skills, able to liaise effectively with clients and remote teams.
  • Desirable:

    • Previous experience working on large-scale water treatment or wastewater treatment projects.
    • Familiarity with BIM methodologies and Tekla Structures.
    • Strong project management abilities with a focus on delivering high-quality results.
