DCS Recruitment are looking for 2 Setting Out Engineers to work on a project based in Carrington, national civil engineering contractor.
Contract due to commence mid February 2024
Expected duration of 3 Months
You must be either local or within travelling distance to site as no accommodation is provided.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Accurate setting out of the works and dimensional control
- Resolving and/or reporting technical problems/design issues
- Coordinate & carry out inspections in accordance with the Inspection and Test Plan
- Ensuring activities are carried out in a safe manner in accordance with the Project Safety Plan
- Accurate maintenance of Quality records progressive with the works
- Ensure survey equipment is calibrated, in date and in a serviceable condition
- Ensure personal & site diaries are accurately maintained
- Ensure construction operations are carried out in accordance with the Contract requirements using the appropriate agreed procedures
- Informing senior management of any non-conformances or poor workmanship
- Ensure all site personnel have clear, accurate and appropriate information to carry out their duties
- Close liaison with the Site Foreman and Works Managers
- Ensure that only the latest issue drawings and documents are being used
- Ensure all materials on site are suitable, stored in line with manufacturer's recommendations, current working practice, contract specification or project requirements
- Assist the Site Management team to update KPI's, material reconciliation and progress reports
Qualifications and experience:
- Civil Engineering related qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
- Experience working for civil engineering contractors on projects involving roads, bridges and rail lines.
- CSCS Card
- Understanding of typical civil engineering methodologies
- Familiar with use of Survey and setting out equipment
