Join our Highways Service team as a Structures Contract Officer, where you will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing contracts related to highway structures. Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide leadership in resource planning, procurement, and commissioning to ensure cost-effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Manage all aspects of contract or service agreements, leading strategic reviews to ensure services are fit for purpose.
  • Ensure effective commercial performance management and continuous improvement against key performance indicators and service level agreements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A relevant qualification in Structural Engineering / Civil Engineering at degree level.
  • Membership of a relevant Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering body.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, the Model Contract for Highway Works, and relevant codes of practice.
  • Experience in asset management of highway structures, including inspection, maintenance, assessment, design, and construction.
  • Proficiency in Bridge Management Systems and other relevant IT tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage complex projects and make strategic decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and with various stakeholders.
