Role Overview

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional Building Surveyor to join our market leading team in Manchester. The role will see you join the team to deliver successful and rapidly growing services to a high quality, helping to build the strong pipeline of instructions, generating fee income, supporting the strategic direction for improvement across a diverse client base.As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in driving forward our team and divisional growth targets and promoting a culture of excellence, client centric advice and driving innovation where we can add value to our client’s organisations through development of an already market leading service offer to the next level, including technology solutions and processes to drive efficiency and scalability of the services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering instructions across a range of services including planned preventative maintenance/condition surveys, contract administration, defects consultancy, dilapidations, licences for alterations, reinstatement cost assessments, schedules of condition and TDD. 
  • Engage with clients and seek periodic feedback to ensure instructions are delivered on time and to the highest standard and address any perceived issues with service delivery.
  • Adopt technology solutions to drive efficiency, communications, transparency of the process and exchange of information through the delivery.
  • Build your own connections internally within the business and also externally to build pipeline opportunities.
  • Embrace opportunities to grow your personal and the team’s fee income and profitability, and identifying new opportunities where we can add value to our client’s businesses.
  • Developing case studies, marketing materials, pitch content and other promotional material and activities for the team and division.
  • Contributing toward the success of the team and division through both financial and non-financial activities, promoting the team and business culture positively.
  • Supporting the team in other works and delivery on an ad hoc basis where demand of workload dictates.

Key Skills

  • Highest attention to customer service and response to enquiries and delivering instructions within tight time frames.
  • Commercial awareness – good understanding of business principles and strategy.
  • Financially conversant and able to structure fee proposals and evaluate success and profitability of work in the team.
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organisation skills, with the ability to handle multiple instructions with excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • RICS qualified
