Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled CNC Turner with experience operating Fanuc Controls to join our precision engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting, operating, and programming CNC turning machines to produce precision components to exact specifications. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality parts across various industries, adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, program, and operate CNC lathes using Fanuc controls to produce precision components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to ensure components are manufactured to the required tolerances and dimensions.
  • Select and install appropriate tools, cutting speeds, and feeds for the material being worked on.
  • Perform quality checks on completed parts using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring equipment.
  • Carry out routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
  • Monitor production processes to ensure efficiency and address any issues or deviations promptly.
  • Work closely with the engineering and quality control teams to continuously improve production methods.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, following health and safety protocols.
Skills & Experience:
  • Proven experience as a CNC Turner, specifically using Fanuc controls.
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to program, set, and operate CNC lathes with precision.
  • Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to tight tolerances.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, CNC Machining, or a related field (preferred but not essential with equivalent experience).
  • Experience with Fanuc controls is essential.
  • Apprenticeship or relevant CNC training is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving license (preferred).
