My client is a prominent contractor working on a major Water Framework in the North West, delivering key infrastructure and solutions for water networks. To support the successful delivery of these projects, they are looking for an experienced Freelance MEICA Site Supervisor to join the team. This role will involve overseeing the MEICA elements on various water treatment and distribution projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise the on-site installation, testing, and commissioning of MEICA systems (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control, and Automation) on water-related projects.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality.
- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day activities of subcontractors and site teams, ensuring work is progressing in line with project timelines.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of MEICA installations and systems to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry regulations.
- Monitor site health and safety, ensuring that all activities comply with safety standards and risk assessments.
- Provide regular progress updates to the project manager and other stakeholders, including reporting on any delays or issues that may impact project delivery.
- Assist in the preparation and review of method statements, risk assessments, and other necessary documentation.
- Resolve on-site technical issues and collaborate with engineers and project teams to implement effective solutions.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a MEICA Site Supervisor, ideally within the water sector.
- Strong understanding of MEICA systems, including mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation in water treatment or distribution environments.
- Experience managing site activities, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring smooth project delivery.
- Sound knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and health & safety practices (e.g., WRc, ISO, British Standards).
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges on-site.
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Valid CSCS card (preferred) and relevant H&S qualifications (e.g., SSSTS, SMSTS).
