A renowned and forward-thinking project management and construction consultancy is seeking a Head of Principal Design to establish and lead a new Building Safety Act (BSA) Principal Design capability.

This is a unique opportunity to join a thriving consultancy and work on a variety of high-profile projects already secured due to the high demand from their existing client base.

The Head of Principal Design Role

The successful Head of Principal Design will be responsible for setting up and leading the BSA Principal Design team, ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and delivering excellence in CDM (Construction Design and Management) services. You will work closely with key stakeholders, providing strategic guidance, technical support, and leadership to ensure the effective delivery of Principal Design services across multiple sectors.

The Head of Principal Design will also be instrumental in developing the team, fostering a culture of innovation, and promoting best practices across all projects. This role will suit a candidate with a strong background in Principal Design and CDM, coupled with extensive experience in delivering services under the new BSA regulations.

The Head of Principal Design

  • In-depth knowledge and experience in Principal Design and CDM regulations.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects under the Building Safety Act (BSA).
  • Strong leadership skills and experience in setting up and managing a Principal Design team.
  • Experience within a consultancy environment is preferred.
  • Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction, APS, or equivalent.
  • Degree qualified in a related discipline (Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or similar).
