A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Principal Designer to join a family-run, award-winning construction consultancy based in the North West.

The Senior Principal Designer Role

As the Senior Principal Designer, you will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of design risk management across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will work closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to provide expert CDM advice, ensure compliance with CDM 2015 regulations, and promote health and safety throughout the design and construction phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of Principal Designer duties across multiple projects.
  • Provide expert advice on CDM 2015 regulations to clients and project teams.
  • Conduct design risk assessments and ensure effective hazard elimination.
  • Prepare and review pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
  • Manage health and safety compliance throughout the design and construction process.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and design teams to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Mentor and support junior team members.

The Senior Principal Designer

  • Degree in a construction-related field.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB, or APS).
  • Extensive experience as a Principal Designer in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
