A leading multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an experienced Principal Designer to join their dynamic team in Manchester.

The successful Principal Designer will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of a diverse range of construction projects. The successful Principal Designer

  • Provide expert advice on health and safety and CDM compliance to clients, designers, and contractors.
  • Manage the pre-construction phase, including the preparation of pre-construction information and design risk assessments.
  • Lead and facilitate CDM workshops and contribute to the development of design safety strategies.
  • Work on a variety of projects, from residential to large-scale commercial developments.
  • Ensure all projects comply with CDM regulations and promote best practices in design risk management.

To be considered for the role of Principal Designer, candidates should have

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role within a consultancy environment.
  • A strong background in construction design and management, with specific experience in delivering CDM Principal Designer services.
  • NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health and Safety or equivalent qualification.
  • Membership in a relevant professional body, such as IOSH or APS.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
