Health & Safety Manager
£45,000.00 - £55,000 (DOE) + Performance related bonus
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Health & Safety Manager to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate, reporting to our Factory Manager, will join our FMCG production/manufactuing team. With a passion for continuous improvement and improving cross-department ways of working, the Health & Safety Manager will have a strong focus on aligning approach and processes as well as ensuring compliance with legislation, reporting and adopted standards.
- Be accountable for ensuring the site’s health & safety management systems are up to date and are compliant with health & safety legislation
- Act as a source of information and advice to maintain site statutory compliance
- Assist with the management of site health & safety projects, training and risk assessments, working with departmental teams to ensure all are kept up to date and accessible
- Ensure all health & safety related issues above manager level are reported to the site Factory Manager and Operations Director as applicable
- Promote health & safety standards and behaviours by leading by example, coaching others and challenging unsafe practises and behaviours
- Lead on ensuring the site OHSMS ISO 45001 certification is maintained
- Provide support to department managers in relation to control of chemicals and CoSHH assessment
- Supports the Senior Leadership Team in creating an engaging and proactive safety culture.
- Must lead by example in embracing the two principles; to offer only the finest products and continuously challenge the status quo
Skills & Experience Required
- Hold NEBOSH General Certificate – pre 2018 specification
- First Aid Trained
- Level 2 Food Safety
- Fire Marshall Trained
- Experience of conducting internal audits
- Experience working in a Health & Safety role within food manufacturing
- Construction Design Management (CDM) Awareness and Responsibility Training
