Burman are seeking a strategic and innovative Head of Learning and Development to drive the transformation of a key public sectors learning culture. This role will lead the design, delivery, and evaluation of comprehensive learning strategies, with a strong focus on implementing and embedding a cutting-edge Learning Management System (LMS) to modernise and streamline our approach to staff development. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in organisational learning, digital transformation, and a passion for fostering growth and engagement across the workforce.
Principal Accountabilities
Learning and Development Strategy
- Lead the creation and delivery of the organisation's Learning and Development strategy to meet business goals and align with workforce needs.
- Partner with senior leaders to identify current and future capability requirements.
LMS Implementation and Optimisation
- Oversee the implementation, and integration of a new Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring alignment with organisational needs and compliance requirements.
- Manage ongoing system improvements, ensuring the LMS supports user-friendly access to resources, performance tracking, and reporting.
Programme Design and Delivery
- Design and deliver innovative learning programmes, leveraging digital tools to enhance engagement and accessibility.
- Ensure a blended learning approach that combines e-learning, face-to-face training, and other methodologies.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and stakeholders, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure L&D initiatives align with organisational goals and promote inclusivity.
Performance Metrics and Evaluation
- Establish KPIs and monitor the impact of L&D initiatives on employee performance and organisational objectives.
- Use data analytics to generate insights, refine programmes, and ensure ROI on L&D investments.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, coach, and inspire the L&D team to deliver high-impact services.
- Build team capacity to support the implementation and ongoing management of the LMS.
Policy and Compliance
- Ensure all learning initiatives comply with relevant legislation, safeguarding requirements, and internal policies.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay up-to-date with trends in learning technologies, methodologies, and best practices to ensure the organisation remains at the forefront of learning innovation.
