We are looking for a HSEQ & Training Manager to work for an installations provider to energy industry based in Manchester

Our client is a leading smart meter installers, working in partnership with numerous household name energy suppliers are now looking for a HSEQ & Training Manager reporting to the Quality Assurance and Senior Compliance Manager.

This role encompasses Health, Safety, Environment and Quality responsibilities whilst supporting our industry leading training academy and training staff.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Manage the training centre and training team ensuring both are adequately supported

Gain and maintain accreditation with industry awarding bodies to support the group disciplines

Construct lesson plans and course criteria to support the portfolio of courses on offer at the academy

Proactive development of Health & Safety management systems across the company, in line with objectives and policy

Ensure ongoing reviews of Health & Safety policies and objectives and programmes to implement changes are undertaken

Ensure a coherent and accurate system for the provision of, monitoring and control of risk assessments in place and communicated appropriately.

Identify opportunities for improvement.

Maintain an effective mechanism that ensures that lessons are learned, and best practice is repeated.

Identify and manage the internal H&S training programme

Produce & communicate safety bulletins/alerts. Either topical towards recent events or industry best practice.

Establish a programme of toolbox talks

Conduct and lead Accident / Incident / Root cause analysis investigations, identifying the immediate, underlying and root causes of accidents and incidents.

Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of H&S legislation.

Ensure that RIDDOR incidents are reported to HSE

Maintain and effectively manage all qualifications and authorisations to ensure compliance for all work completed in the field

Planning the operative journey from start to finish though academy including hotel and transport coordination

Requirements

A strong, core working experience in the gas and electric metering industry

Management/Trainer Experience

IQA & IOSH/NEBOSH accreditation

3 Phase/Medium pressure qualified

Beneficial experience

Previous experience as a HSEQ manager

CT metering

Renewables/solar/EV

Previous experience gaining accreditation with industry awarding bodies

Previous experience constructing lesson plans & Course criteria

Working knowledge of the regulatory requirements of a training centre
