Data Centre Supervisor

Location: Manchester
Salary: 47,000 - 48,000 (Dependent on experience)
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 08:00 - 17:00)
Additional Benefits: Overtime pay, vehicle for on-call duties, call-out allowance, laptop, mobile phone, and 25 days of annual leave

We are recruiting for a Data Centre Supervisor on behalf of a renowned client in Data Centre Solutions. This position offers a hands-on leadership role, overseeing engineering teams to ensure high operational standards in a Data Centre located in Manchester. If you're an experienced supervisor with a background in critical environments and engineering or are an experienced engineer looking for a step up, this could be the ideal next step for you.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and support the engineering team, ensuring all scheduled maintenance (PPM) and reactive works are completed to standard.
  • Lead the team with guidance on Health & Safety, compliance, and operational excellence in line with CBRE and client policies.
  • Act as the primary contact for the engineering team, providing leadership, training, coaching, and recognition.
  • Supervise and assess contractors, handle quotations, and coordinate remedial work to ensure continuous site improvement.
  • Manage compliance for site audits and act as the site lead for safety, technical, and environmental assessments.
  • Handle financial tasks including budgeting support, basic quoting, and assistance with CAPEX & OPEX planning.
  • Ensure efficient operations of critical systems through the EkkoSense platform for site optimisation.


Required Experience and Qualifications:

  • Qualifications: City & Guilds C&G 2365 Level 3 in Electrical, 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations (mechanical knowledge preferred).
  • Experience: Strong background in critical environments with expertise in Health & Safety, change management, and data centre operations.
  • Skills: Excellent communicator, proficient with technology, experienced in supervising contractors, and capable of managing contract costs.
  • Additional Skills: LVAP/HVAP experience; First Aid, IOSH/NEBOSH certification are a plus.


Additional Information:

  • On-call Rotation: 1 in 3 weeks.
  • Driving License: Clean driving license required.
  • Flexible Working: Ability to respond to out-of-hours issues and manage work independently.
