Database Developer  

Our client is a dynamic and innovative Manchester organisation dedicated to leveraging real-time data performance to drive our operations. As part of their in-house IT team of 12, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining their data infrastructure, supporting critical systems, and ensuring operational excellence.  

We seek a highly skilled DBA to join our client's expert IT team. As our database specialist, you’ll manage and maintain complex database environments, focusing on PostgreSQL and Redis, while troubleshooting real-time data queries and optimising system performance. You’ll handle databases hosted on-site, in AWS and Kubernetes environments, with a chance to expand into MySQL systems.  

Responsibilities: 
  • Design, develop and maintain PostgreSQL and Redis databases.  
  • Optimise and manage existing database systems for peak performance.  
  • Troubleshoot and resolve real-time data query issues.  
  • Implement and manage database replication across multiple sites and instances.  
  • Maintain databases across on-site, AWS, and Kubernetes environments.  
  • Perform installations, updates, and ongoing maintenance of database systems.  
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and high performance.  
  • Collaborate with the IT team to support critical operations.  
  • Guide database architecture and scaling strategies.  
  • Maintain clear and thorough documentation for all database systems.  
Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis databases.  
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage existing database systems.  
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for real-time data query issues.  
  • Expertise in database replication across multiple environments.  
  • Knowledge of database management in on-site, AWS, and Kubernetes settings.  
  • Additional experience with MySQL is highly desirable.  
  • Robust problem-solving and proactive approach.  
  • Full-time availability to work on-site at our Manchester Head Office.  
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
