Castlefield Recruitment are currently working with a Greater Manchester based Educational Institution on a permanent Director of Governance, Compliance and Risk role on a full-time permanent basis.

Duties

  • Develop the Group risk management strategy and plan to ensure the overall risk management structure is embedded across the organisation
  • Integrate risk practices into the organisational processes and culture, ensuring the integration of risk measurement and monitoring
  • Provide strategic oversight of the key corporate policies, working with policy owners to ensure they are relevant and up to date, ensuring the organisation is compliant with laws and legislation
  • Responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and operations
  • Interact with regulatory authorities and industry associations as needed and collaborate with senior management to ensure they are informed about risk and compliance issues.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • 7+ years of job-related experience
  • Extensive practical knowledge of risk management and strategy implementation ideally in large organisations
  • Significant experience with risk management tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of compliance and Health and Safety principles in an education environment
  • Strong understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in both written and oral communication
  • Proven leadership with experience in managing and developing teams
  • Ability to influence and build trust with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership
