Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs and Hearing Impairments (SEND)? Tradewind Recruitment is delighted to be working with a special needs Primary School to work in the South Manchester, Levelshulme (M19) area, looking to recruit a passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in SEND support within schools and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of young people.

About the RoleAs a SEN Teaching Assistant for the hearing impaired, you will play a vital role in helping students overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Working closely with the current team, you will provide tailored support to students with varying levels of hearing impairment and BSL understanding.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting students with SEND in both one-to-one and small group settings.
  • Assisting with the implementation of personalised learning plans and strategies.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Liaising with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide holistic support.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being among students.

This is a full-time role & long term available for an immediate start, offering an opportunity to make a real impact in a welcoming school environment.

About YouTo be considered for this position, you must:

  • To be passionate and committed to inclusion and meeting the needs of all children.
  • Have some experience of supporting children with hearing needs (desirable)
  • Work flexibly across multiple settings empowering partners to deliver the best outcomes for our children.
  • To be positive, resilient, flexible, and work well within our happy team.
  • The ability to communicate with children and young people with hearing needs. British Sign Language would be an advantage.
  • A valid full UK driving licence and access to your own transport (mileage will be paid)
