We are seeking enthusiastic and caring individuals to work with nursery and reception-aged children, helping them discover the joys of learning and development while possessing a strong phonics knowledge.

As an Early Years Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our nursery and reception classes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the lead teacher in implementing engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans, including a strong emphasis on phonics.
  • Providing individualised attention to students to support their learning and development, particularly in phonics.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment where children feel safe and valued.
  • Encouraging and promoting social interaction and teamwork among the students.
  • Assisting with the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities, with a focus on phonics-based resources.
  • Supporting students with their personal needs, including meal times and toileting.
  • Communicating effectively with parents and guardians to provide updates on their child's progress, especially in phonics development.

Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you should possess the following qualifications and qualities:

  • Minimum of a level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, an early years degree or a similar childcare qualification.
  • Prior experience working with young children, preferably in a nursery or early years setting.
  • A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to child development, with a strong emphasis on phonics.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing personality.
  • A strong work ethic and a willingness to collaborate as part of a team.
