Reeson Education is currently recruiting a calm, patient, and proactive Teaching Assistant for a supportive SEN school in the M30 area of Salford. This Teaching Assistant role will be working 1:1 with a KS3 pupil who is working at a KS2 level and has a diagnosis of ASD and associated learning difficulties.

This Teaching Assistant position is full-time, long-term, and offers the chance to become a valued, permanent member of the team. Driving is preferred due to the school's location and transport links, but it is not essential for the right Teaching Assistant.

The pupil you'll be supporting thrives with structure and consistency. The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who can build a strong relationship, support with academic and social development, and adapt tasks and communication styles to suit individual needs.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:

  • Work 1:1 with a KS3 pupil with ASD and learning difficulties
  • Adapt classroom materials and scaffold learning appropriately
  • Support communication and encourage engagement
  • Work alongside teaching staff and specialists to follow personalised plans
  • Promote emotional regulation and self-confidence through positive support

The Ideal Teaching Assistant Will:

  • Have previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, ideally in a SEN or ASD setting
  • Be calm, consistent, and understanding
  • Show excellent communication and listening skills
  • Be open to supporting with personal care if required
  • Have a flexible and committed attitude to long-term support

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to apply)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Recent, relevant references
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, especially ASD
