About Us:

Educate GM is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education and care to our young learners.

You will join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Gorton, Manchester, dedicated to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our pupils. We are committed to fostering a love of learning and ensuring every child reaches their full potential.

We are looking for someone who is proactive and has great communication skills. The role may include supporting children with SEN, so a candidate with patience and compassion is necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning and delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to pupils, helping them to achieve their learning goals.
  • Support the class teacher with classroom management and organisation.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher.
  • Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and ensure their individual needs are met.
  • Supervise pupils during break times and other non-classroom activities.

About You:

  • Level 1 - Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Key Stage 1 Experience
  • SEN experience is preferred
  • Previous experience working with young children, preferably in a school setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS)
  • Your CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible, and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • 2 professional references
