Principal Ecologist - Manchester

£35,000 - £45,000

A leading consultancy is seeking a driven Senior/Principal Ecologist to join their Manchester team. With a diverse client base across residential, commercial, industrial, and infrastructure sectors, this role offers the opportunity to lead exciting ecological projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage ecology projects, ensuring high-quality delivery.
  • Conduct habitat and protected species surveys, Ecological Clerk of Works, and produce technical reports.
  • Manage subconsultants and mentor junior ecologists.
  • Maintain strong client relationships and contribute to business development.
  • Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • 3-5 years' experience as an Ecologist.
  • Degree in a relevant field.
  • Full CIEEM membership.
  • Strong knowledge of UK wildlife legislation, EIA, and planning processes.
  • Experience in project management, fieldwork, and report writing.
  • Valid UK driving licence and flexibility for travel.
