Atomic Talent has a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor with HVAC or MEP experience to play a lead role in the delivery of a long term HVAC programme in Cumbria.

The project pipeline is significant, and is estimated to exceed £20 million per annum. The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the implementation, development, and delivery of the commercial processes for a new Cumbria HQ, working in parallel with the Regional Commercial Director.

The Role

The role will provide commercial, contractual and financial management to projects related to the Sellafield site in Cumbria. Key to the role will be the ownership of programme profit objectives, and targets, and ensuring that cash is managed to maximise performance.

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will apply proper contractual and commercial practices, carefully managing risk to maximise the financial effectiveness, and profitability of all projects within their remit.

Responsibilities

  • All quantity surveying duties including measurement, valuation and agreements.
  • Advise on commercial risks within the project or projects.
  • Preparation and agreement of interim applications and final accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts information.
  • The administration of sub-contractor accounts.
  • Negotiate with clients’ representatives and other consultants.
  • Monthly contract reviews.
  • Identify change and implement change control process and agreement.

Education and Experience

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying or relevant Commercial Management qualification.
  • Experience within HVAC or MEP
  • Knowledge of Sellafield or similar nuclear environment.
  • A working knowledge of NEC contracts, typically E, A and C.
