Senior Multiskilled Technician - Electric Biased

Position Summary: The Senior Multiskilled Technician (Electric Biased) will be responsible for carrying out electrical maintenance and a wide range of general building repairs in a commercial office setting. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of electrical systems and building maintenance practices. This role requires a proactive individual who is capable of handling various maintenance tasks, ensuring the facility remains operational and safe.
Key Responsibilities:
* Electrical Maintenance:
o Perform routine electrical maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, ballasts, fuses, and addressing electrical faults (outlets, switches, lighting fixtures).
o Test and maintain emergency lighting systems and other electrical equipment.
o Install and maintain electrical systems such as power outlets and data points.
o Ensure adherence to electrical safety regulations and best practices.
* General Maintenance:
o Carry out minor plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks and unclogging drains.
o Perform carpentry tasks, such as hanging doors, repairing furniture, and installing shelving.
o Conduct painting and decorating work as needed.
o Respond promptly to maintenance requests and work orders.
o Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
* Building Inspections:
o Conduct regular inspections of the building's facilities to identify and report maintenance issues.
o Monitor energy consumption and implement energy-saving measures.
* Administrative Tasks:
o Maintain accurate records, including work logs and inventory lists.
o Assist in the procurement of materials and supplies.
o Coordinate with contractors and vendors as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Proven experience as a handyperson or in a similar role.
* Valid electrical certification or license (as required by local regulations).
* Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
* Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to perform general maintenance tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, and painting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including supervising or directing team members when required.
* Ability to perform physical labour and lift heavy objects.
