A UK company manufacturing leading technology protection relays and medium voltage circuit breakers often for highly critical electrical power systems across a global client base is looking for a Test Technician to join the team. You will calibrate and test protection relays in their final stage of build process, this is done by using their Automated Test equipment and some manual testing via Current & Voltage injection equipment.This role will be hands on and varied, suiting a person with a strong technical background. Previous experience within an electronics/manufacturing environment is an advantage. You will report to the Validation Manager and work closely with both the production and product test teams. As Test Technician, your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting in diagnosing and fault finding non-conforming products.
  • Maintaining and updating work procedures to support a safe working environment
  • Managing your own time to ensuring tasks are completed to plan.
  • Ensuring quality standards and factory housekeeping is of the highest standard.
  • Ensuring defective work is not passed and is recorded according to company procedures.
  • Ensuring all required documentation is completed correctly and on time.
  • Ensuring that the companies Quality, Health Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are constantly adhered with.
  • Ensuring all products are produced and delivered to the customers’ requirements.
We’re looking for a Test Technician with:
  • HND or higher in electronic/Electrical engineering
  • Ability to work to written instructions and bills of materials
  • A keen eye for detail and high degree of accuracy are essential.
  • Familiarity with the tools used in an electronics testing environment
  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge of PCB production processes.
This is a full-time role, office-based based in Manchester, working 37.5 hours per week.
