We are seeking an Assistant HR Business Partner or Senior HR Advisor for a 6-month contract starting ASAP.

You will work alongside a highly supportive and knowledgeable HR business partner, joining a well-established team that collaborates closely to drive success. Description

  • Employee Relations: Manage complex employee relations cases, building strong relationships with trade unions. Oversee case management, ensuring effective resolution while maintaining a positive and productive working environment.
  • People Plans & Data Analysis: Work with the HR business partner to support people planning by using data to inform decisions. Pull and analyse data to assist in performance management, reporting, and improvement initiatives.
  • Performance Management: Coach senior leaders in managing performance, supporting them through difficult performance issues and helping to drive a culture of high performance. Provide solutions for managers struggling with performance and guide them through Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
  • Leadership Development: Focus on leadership development through data-driven insights, empowering leaders to manage and improve team performance effectively.
  • Recruitment: Lead the recruitment process for high-profile academic roles, including 40 international professor positions. Drive attraction strategies to secure top talent for the faculty.
  • HR Support: Provide ongoing HR support to the faculty, including overseeing staff turnover, absence management, training, and PDR (Personal Development Reviews) completions. Manage vacancy fill rates and ensure alignment with the faculty's strategic goals.

Profile

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Employee Relations Expertise: Proven experience managing complex cases and working with trade unions.
  • Data-Driven Decision-Making: Strong ability to analyse data to inform HR strategies and performance management.
  • Leadership Coaching: Experience in coaching senior leaders and providing guidance on performance management.
  • Recruitment: Experience supporting high-profile recruitment campaigns, particularly in academia.
  • HR Management Skills: Experience with PDR completions, absence management, turnover, promotions, and vacancy management.
  • Technology Skills: Proficiency with Power BI and other HR analytics tools to support reporting and decision-making.
  • Suitable for a Senior HR Advisor, Assistant HR Business Partner or HR Business Partner with strong ER management experience.
Desirable Attributes:
  • Strong Employee Relations & Union Experience: Proven track record in managing employee relations and working effectively with trade unions.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle complex HR cases with precision and thoroughness.
  • Strong communicator who can build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
  • Creative problem-solver, able to find solutions for complex performance challenges.
  • Experience in working with academic and business support staff across diverse disciplines.
  • Strong focus on driving a high-performance culture within the faculty.
  • Education and Training, Not for Profit industry experience is desireable but not essential.
