Reed are supporting Manchester City Council in their recruitment to a newly established Inclusion and Engagement Subject Matter Expert position.

In this role you will spearhead the development and delivery of Equality Diversity & Inclusion (ED&I) programmes. This new role is pivotal in delivering the Council’s Equality and Engagement strategy and action plan, ensuring the highest quality of services to our population and meeting statutory duties under the Equality Act 2010.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Support the development and delivery of ED&I programmes, aligning with Manchester City Council and Manchester Integrated Care Partnership’s strategic plans.
  • Contribute to policy review through lens of equality and inclusion. Providing advice and support to internal stakeholders in drafting policy change.
  • Provide guidance and advice to support the delivery of Manchester Partnership Board’s key priorities and the Making Manchester Fairer programme.
  • Deliver transformational programmes focused on equality, community engagement, inclusion, service redesign, and strategic change.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience across ED&I programmes and initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of the Equality Act 2010 and Public Sector Equality Duty.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with a range of internal and external partners.
  • Commitment to addressing inequalities and contributing to culture change across organisations.
