The role for Environmental Manager
There is an exciting new opportunity to head up the environmental management systems & division to drive and maintain environmental processes and compliance for a leading main contractor and developer involving managing inspections and audit across several major construction projects.
The company are an award winning design & build contractor and developer that specialise in the construction of high end residential, commercial and education projects in excess of 250m in value. Responsibilities for Environmental Manager
- Lead technical advise and strategic direction to senior leadership & board on environmental policy & best practice
- Plan and lead the internal environmental audit programme
- Plan and monitor the internal environmental inspection programme
- Responsible for implementing and driving the positive contribution of environmental site plans
- Assists departmental leads in the development of new and existing processes
- Responsible for continually improving the Environmental Management System
- Responsible for delivering quality training across the business in core environmental principles and the use of key environmental systems
- Generate monthly reports on the business environmental status
- Lead on regular environmental reviews
- Assess supply chain against environmental requirements
Experience / Qualifications Required:
- BSc in Environmental science or management or relevant field
- Experience & background of quality & environmental management
- Experience of implementing & operating ISO 14001 management systems
- Confident communicator with the ability to lead, influence and communicate with peers, leadership teams and external consultants
- High levels of IT literacy and MS Suite proficiency
- Ideally membership of relevant body / accreditation
- High attention to detail
- Excellent organisation, time management & planning skills.
Salary & Package on offer:
- 45,000 - 55,000 base salary dependent on level & experience
