An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk and Assurance Auditor to join a growing team in a well-regarded public sector organisation. This role offers the chance to work on both risk and assurance activities, engaging with senior stakeholders and supporting key decision-making processes.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and develop assurance processes, working closely with internal teams and external bodies.
  • Support the organisation’s risk management framework, including monthly risk reporting cycles and facilitating risk discussions with directorates and senior leaders.Oversee assurance mapping, identifying control gaps and influencing internal audit priorities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by bringing fresh ideas and innovative approaches to risk and assurance activities.
  • Build strong relationships across the organisation, ensuring alignment between risk management and assurance processes.

This role is based in Manchester with hybrid working arrangements. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to London once a month for team meetings (expenses covered). Benefits include study support, a pension over 20% and generous annual leave.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a relevant qualification or be part-qualified (CCAB, Internal Audit, Risk Management) or have equivalent experience.
  • Have experience in assurance, risk management, or internal audit, ideally within the public or not-for-profit sector.
  • Be self-motivated, able to work independently, and confident in managing relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to identify process improvements.
  • Have a friendly and adaptable communication style, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
