The Role:As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and delivering high-quality audit services to clients across various sectors. You will manage audit teams, develop client relationships, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while supporting the professional development of junior staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning and managing audits from inception to completion for a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards.
  • Leading and mentoring audit teams, providing guidance and support throughout the audit process.
  • Reviewing financial statements and ensuring accuracy in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
  • Conducting risk assessments and evaluating internal controls, identifying areas for improvement and efficiencies.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for audit-related matters.
  • Preparing and presenting detailed audit reports to clients, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Monitoring audit progress, managing budgets, and ensuring timely completion of assignments.
  • Assisting with the recruitment, training, and development of junior staff and trainees.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in regulations and industry standards, ensuring the firm’s audit approach remains compliant and effective.
  • Contributing to business development activities, including preparing proposals and identifying new service opportunities for existing clients.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in audit within an accountancy practice.
  • Proven experience in managing audits, leading teams, and developing client relationships.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
