About the Company:A dynamic and forward-thinking accountancy practice in Manchester is looking for an experienced Client Manager to join their growing team. The firm offers a broad range of services to its clients, and this role will involve managing a portfolio of clients across various sectors, ensuring excellent service and strong relationships.

The Role:As a Client Manager, you will be responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing the preparation of accounts, tax compliance, and advising clients on financial matters. You will also manage a team of junior staff and contribute to the growth of the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients, including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Providing clients with tailored advice on financial matters, tax planning, and business strategy.
  • Reviewing accounts, VAT returns, and tax computations prepared by junior staff.
  • Liaising with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions that meet their financial goals.
  • Supervising and mentoring junior staff, ensuring high standards of work and professional development.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, meeting deadlines for submissions.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the primary point of contact for client queries and issues.
  • Assisting with business development, identifying opportunities for additional services and advising potential new clients.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in tax regulations and accounting standards to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Supporting the directors with ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives for the firm.

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in an accountancy practice.
  • Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and providing high-level advisory services.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring junior staff.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Excel.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • A proactive problem solver with keen attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
  • Experience in business development or contributing to firm growth is desirable.
