Commercial Finance Manager

Location: Manchester (hybrid working)

Salary: 55,000 - 60,000 plus great benefits

This is a visible position working closely with senior stakeholders across the business to lead on high profile and complex projects where you will provide robust commercial insight that will support and implement changes across the business to maximise performance and drive initiatives for profitable growth

General responsibilities:-

  • Provide clear commercial financial analysis and insights to stakeholders to support better outcomes and solutions for the business
  • Understand and utilise data to develop analysis and then communicate this back to the business to allow for better decisions and outcomes
  • Manage high-profile and complex projects, working with senior leaders and the Finance Business Partner, providing financial challenge, and making sure outcomes are delivered
  • Get relevant financial and non-financial inputs to model scenarios to make recommendations to optimise business performance
  • Support the development of analysts within the team and share best practice across the wider team to ensure consistency
  • Find new techniques and methodologies to drive budgeting, forecasting and insights whilst driving continuous improvements

You will also be able to demonstrate business acumen and ability to gain knowledge across the breadth of a variety of functions. Good communication skills - able to translate financial information and create successful business relationships. You will also be able to take a 'big picture' view with demonstrable internal consultancy and influencing skills, while possessing a keen eye for the detail

The successful applicant will be ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified coming from a similar commercial finance role with experience of supporting effective decision making?

You will be able to demonstrate being an effective business partner, decision maker, having commercial awareness and being a finance lead where you have driven value add and commercial insight /benefit. Experience within the retail, FMCG, multisite sectors is desirable.

You will have strong business partnering, stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills and in particular the ability to communicate, direct, challenge and influence senior level individuals. Focussed on delivering specific objectives, you will be proactive, adaptable, dynamic and self-motivated with a desire to find and deliver improvements. In addition you will have the ability to work independently and together with other personnel both finance and non-finance.

We are looking for someone with sparkle, drive & energy to come in and really drive some significant improvement. The individual in this role needs to have strong analytical skills, business partnering and influencing skills in order to be a success in a complex area of the business with multiple stakeholders. You will have a creative and innovative approach to problem solving and analysis; delivery orientated - able to work in pressurised environments, meet multiple deadlines and manage own priorities.
