Based in Manchester City Centre, they are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join their fast-paced finance team.

This role is pivotal in supporting the commercial and operational teams, providing insights and strategic financial advice to drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities of the Finance Business Partner position include:

  1. Budgeting & Forecasting
    • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop and deliver accurate and robust budgets.
    • Manage regular forecasting processes, ensuring realistic projections are aligned with business objectives and market conditions.
    • Track performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key variances and advising on corrective actions.
  2. P&L Management & Analysis
    • Take responsibility for the Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis, assessing revenue streams, operating costs, and profitability across the business.
    • Provide deep-dive analysis into financial performance, highlighting trends and making recommendations to senior management to enhance profitability.
    • Ensure P&L accuracy by reviewing revenue recognition, cost allocations, and financial controls.
  3. Business Partnering
    • Act as a strategic finance partner to commercial, editorial, and operational teams, supporting them with financial analysis, insight, and advice.
    • Provide financial guidance on key business initiatives such as new product launches, partnerships, and investment decisions.
    • Support decision-making by delivering timely and insightful financial reports, including scenario planning, ROI analysis, and business case development.
  4. Financial Reporting & Analysis
    • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and adherence to corporate reporting standards.
    • Deliver commentary and insights on financial performance to senior leadership, identifying opportunities and risks.
    • Assist with internal and external audit requirements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
  5. Commercial Insight & Performance Improvement
    • Identify areas for cost optimisation and margin improvement through detailed analysis and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Proactively recommend initiatives to improve operational efficiency, profitability, and financial performance.
    • Support commercial teams in pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and deal structuring from a financial perspective.
  6. Process & Systems Enhancement
    • Drive improvements in financial processes and reporting tools, ensuring data accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency.
    • Collaborate with the wider finance team to streamline reporting systems and develop dashboards for enhanced business visibility.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Strong experience in budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
  • Proven track record of working closely with commercial and operational teams to influence decision-making and improve business performance.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems
