Finance Director

SF Executive have been retained by a high growth manufacturing business in Manchester to recruit a commercially astute and communicative Finance Director. The role in question will sit as right hand to the Managing Director and play a fundamental part in leading the derivation, direction and delivery of company strategy. You will take an active role in all operational and manufacturing processes - looking at product costings, overhead allocation, scrap levels to name but a few. You will also play a big part in pricing and customer engagement. Given the ownership structure of the business, at some point there may be some kind of business transaction to manage. We are looking for a driven FC or FD who may be wanting to step up who has lots of IQ and EQ but is low ego. We need someone who has worked in manufacturing and can navigate shop floor issues just as easily as financial ones - you're probably working in a standalone / family owned or investor backed business at the moment - that said we would consider good, upwardly mobile candidates from bigger businesses looking for a broader role in an SME. We need someone from the local area and can't entertain anyone from more than an hour away or anyone that would need to stay away or relocate. Although there is an opportunity to partake in a business exit, this isn't a prerequisite although we'd certainly be interested to speak to candidates who have led or been involved in this before - this could have been through a finance or corporate finance role.
