Our client, part of a global group, is a manufacturer based in Eccles. This exciting, newly created role is for a Finance Manager who will take full responsibility for the financial operations of the company. Working as part of a small team and reporting directly to the Head of Finance and Admin, you will be a key person in the business, taking an active and assertive role in ensuring the transactional processing is carried out efficiently and in an accurate and timely manner

Main Finance Manager Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
  • Provide detailed analysis of financial performance and identify trends to support business decision-making.
  • Ensure timely submission of financial reports to senior management and relevant authorities.
  • Support the annual budgeting process, working closely with the Head of Finance and the UK Management Accountant.
  • Provide financial insights to drive long-term growth and profitability.
  • Support the implementation of cost-saving initiatives.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, HMRC, and other regulatory bodies.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard the company's assets.
  • Lead and develop the finance team, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and bookkeeping staff.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the team operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide training as needed.
  • Review and optimise financial processes and systems to increase efficiency.
  • Implement new accounting software or financial tools if required.
  • Ensure the integrity of financial data and reporting systems.
  • Ensure tax returns and other statutory filings are accurate and submitted on time.
  • Liaise with external tax advisers and handle VAT and corporate tax matters.
  • Act as a key liaison between the finance department and other departments, providing financial support and advice.
  • Present financial reports and forecasts to senior management as requested.
  • Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, including banks, investors, and auditors.

About our new Finance Manager:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent accounting qualification
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (Master’s degree desirable).
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager in manufacturing or a FMCG background.
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling.
  • Strong knowledge of UK taxation laws and compliance regulations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • High proficiency in financial software (e.g. Sage, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • High levels of integrity and professionalism.
  • Has a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement.
