About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join their established tax practice in Manchester. As a Corporate Tax Manager, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality tax advisory services to their diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses to large corporate entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of corporate tax clients, overseeing compliance work and reviewing corporate tax returns
  • Provide proactive tax planning advice and identify tax-saving opportunities for clients
  • Lead and deliver corporate tax advisory projects including restructuring, due diligence, and R&D tax credit claims
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, becoming a trusted advisor on tax matters
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop junior team members
  • Assist in business development activities and identify cross-selling opportunities
  • Liaise with HMRC on complex technical matters and client enquiries
  • Stay current with tax legislation changes and assess their impact on clients
Requirements
  • ACA, CTA, or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in corporate taxation, with at least 2 years at manager level
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK corporate tax legislation
  • Experience with tax software systems and digital tax compliance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly
  • Proven team management and leadership experience
  • Commercial awareness and ability to identify business development opportunities
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in a Top 50 or similar accountancy practice
  • Knowledge of international tax planning and cross-border transactions
  • Sector specialization (e.g., technology, manufacturing, real estate)
  • Experience with tax advisory projects and restructuring
  • Ability to contribute to the firm's growth strategy
