Position: Experienced Ocean Freight Export Specialist
Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:30
Salary: 30,000 - 40,000 (DOE)

We are recruiting for a client of ours, one of the UK's leading logistics and freight companies. They operate worldwide and offer a full range of services in the UK, across Europe, and internationally across all trade routes. Our client seeks a skilled Ocean Freight Export Specialist to join their expanding team.

To be considered for this role you must have experience in ocean freight operations, from start to finish. Although the role is remote, you must attend two weeks of training in their Stoke office (accommodation will be provided).

Your key responsibilities as Ocean Freight Export Specialist:

  • Handling FCL and LCL exports, mainly to China and US and other origins on an end-to-end basis
  • Booking in jobs on the in-house system
  • Provide freight rates, quotes and pricing solutions for customers
  • Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines and various carriers
  • Track and update shipment statutes in the company's system and provide regular updates to clients
  • Coordinate tasks on the shipments to meet all customer SOP requirements: booking approvals, processing pre-alerts, governmental filings, executing delivery, ensuring proper invoicing, etc.
  • Complete customs processes - including INCOTERMS
  • Ensure compliance with export regulations and trade compliance laws
  • Developing good working relationships with shipping lines, overseas agents, hauliers and our other branches
  • Growing our prospect database

Requirements:

  • End-to-end Ocean Freight Operations knowledge is ESSENTIAL
  • Working knowledge of the International freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong customs knowledge is essential
  • Be able to communicate effectively with clients, suppliers and your wider team
  • Have a keen attention to detail
  • Develop trust and respect from colleagues & clients
  • Identify problems early & respond in a timely fashion
  • A proactive and professional persona
